Diego Mesa Arismendy se encuentra detenido en el Palacio de Justicia de Ciudad Nueva, Distrito Nacional.
Santo Domingo.-El Ministerio Público depositará este lunes la solicitud de medida de coerción contra el mayor del Ejército Diego Geraldo Mesa Arismendy, señalado como responsable de la muerte violenta de Perla Jokasta Santos Pacheco, una joven de 19 años, en un hecho ocurrido la madrugada del 26 de diciembre en el sector Los Guandules, del Distrito Nacional.
La joven murió producto de un disparo en la cabeza luego de haber salido de su casa en la madrugada con unos amigos que la fueron a buscar. Según se dijo su cuerpo fue encontrado en la vía pública.
Mesa Arismendy, de 48 años, fue arrestado ayer sábado por la Policía Nacional tras una labor investigativa y posteriormente puesto a disposición del Ministerio Público.
Actualmente se encuentra detenido en el Palacio de Justicia de Ciudad Nueva, DN.
De acuerdo con informaciones preliminares, el órgano acusador podría solicitar prisión preventiva como medida de coerción. Hasta el momento, el mayor es la única persona detenida en relación con el caso.
A través de un comunicado, la Policía Nacional informó ayer que el arresto fue realizado por miembros del Departamento Operativo II de Investigaciones de Homicidios, adscrito a la Dirección Central de Investigación (Dicrim), con la participación de representantes del Ministerio Público.
La institución indicó que, como parte del proceso investigativo, los agentes realizaron múltiples levantamientos de cámaras de videovigilancia, así como la recolección y análisis de evidencias, lo que permitió identificar, ubicar y arrestar al presunto autor del hecho.
Según versiones ofrecidas por familiares de la víctima, el suceso ocurrió alrededor de las 2:45 de la madrugada, luego de que la joven saliera de su residencia, donde se encontraba sentada en la puerta.
